Dear Cleveland Public School Community Members:
In a community survey last year, 66% of respondents asked the district to address the needs of the school and 78% said that updated educational spaces are critical to preparing students for the future. We are addressing those concerns in hopes of strengthening our school and community for years to come. We are asking you to weigh in on a new referendum proposal.
Sections of our school are nearly 70 years old. Our building is older than many of our neighboring district’s buildings, and it has several code compliance, safety, and security issues. The referendum consists of two questions. The first addresses classrooms as well as major repairs and improvements while the second would allow construction of a new gymnasium and other spaces.
We believe with these investments our school will be the center of our community and prepare our students for success for many years to come. The Cleveland community has traditionally been supportive of our school. Together, we have a lot to be proud of. We thank you for your support of our operating referendum in 2015, and for your involvement in shaping this plan. We are now asking for help with updating our facilities, and we are extremely appreciative of your consideration. With your help, we look forward to continuing the legacy of Cleveland Public School.
