Health Class

8th Grade Health - This class is during the second quarter and is required for all 8th graders. This class will meet everyday. Achievement will be measured through written tests (objective, short answer, extended response, matching, true/false), responsible decision making worksheets, various written assignments, group &/or individual presentations and behavioral rehearsals. The material being covered is based off the Health Smart Curriculum. The core subjects that will be covered are... Mental Health, Violence and Injury Prevention, Nutrition, Abstinence, Puberty,& Personal Health, HIV, STD, & Pregnancy Protection, Tobacco, Alcohol, & Other Drugs Prevention 

10th Grade Health (Current Health Issues II) - This class meets in the second quarter and is a graduation standard. When students complete this course they will have an understanding of how to access valid and reliable information that helps in making health-related decisions. Achievement will be measured through written tests (objective, short answer, extended response, matching, true/false), responsible decision making worksheets, various written assignments, group &/or individual presentations and behavioral rehearsals, and Health Fair project. The material being covered is based off the Health Smart Curriculum. The core subjects that will be covered are... Emotional Health & Mental Health, Abstinence, Puberty,& Personal Health, HIV, STD, & Pregnancy Protection, Tobacco, Alcohol, & Other Drugs Prevention. This class will be a more in depth class to helps students prepare and understand health issues that will come their way as they get older.
